The Pool

The water glistens, shimmers
not a ripple stirs,
Privacy prevails
Totally alone I dive into a world
of warmth, softness, freshness, blueness
A cleansing overcomes me,
as I slice through the surface
up and down, back and forth
not thinking, not caring
letting the day wash from my tired body
Finding the strength to once again
face another October day.

I'm so glad the swim was cleansing. Water can be so therapeutic I know. Liberating to dive in alone - but when you come up for air, remember we're all here.

I love watching swimmers. When James has his lesson there is a lane of adult swimmers and they cut through the water so perfectly - in their element....it seems to offer a wonderful freedom that dry land cannot. I am so glad you found some peace and in perfect privacy too....wonderful. Just imagine that water taking away all the stress and hurt and anger so that when you emerge, like a water goddess from the water, you are quite cleansed, quite free.
I'll be thinking of you tomorrow as I sit by the side of the pool....and sending buckets of love and support....jxxxxxx

Cutting through the water is the perfect way to feel like you are powering away from troubles and making headway on a new path - well done, Mousie! Best of luck this week...Mootia x

I am I swear part fish feel most at home in or near the water, you can forget teh world when you are swimming and get life back into perspective. As Dorry from Finding Nemo would say" keep on swimming swimming swimming.."

That water becomes you.

Cleanses you.

Takes away the usual gravity.

You are buoyant in the water and also when you emerge.

Beautiful poem, I hope as you dive in your troubles spiral away behind you, if even for a short while. xx

You seem to be finding moments of peace Mousie. I hope they are not too transitory and as all the others say, when the peace eludes you remember we are here xx

Lovely poem, Mousie. The lovely satin/milky/slippery feel of the water is so soothing. That feeling of lightness, weightlessness - such a lovely thing to give yourself over to.
Hugs to you from this side of the Pond
